Summer

After a dry spring in our area this year many lawns were beginning to show signs of drought stress already and so the recent rain is very welcome. As we go into summer and temperatures begin to rise grass requires moisture in order to stay green and hopefully unlike 2018 we will have the odd shower to help things along. If conditions do turn dry, then raise the cutting height of your mower to help retain moisture in the grass. If a prolonged dry period is forecast and you can water, then do it before the grass turns yellow/brown. Maintain watering deeply (2.5cm in any one area) every 7-10 days ideally early in the morning until rain returns.
