new lawns
If you need to replace your existing lawn or lay a completely new one then Lawn Style can prepare the site and either lay turf or sow seed for you. This can then be followed up by our seasonal lawn treatment programme.
Turf Laying
Although more expensive than seeding, turf does provide you with an instant new lawn but it is the preparation of the ground underneath that is the key to how well that turf will establish. once the turf has been laid you will need to keep it well watered for at least ten days to ensure the roots travel down nice and deep. The process that Lawn Style follow for laying a new lawn is:
- Kill any existing grass and weeds
- Rotovate the area
- Rake the area to remove stones and debris
- Level the area
- Add additional top soil if needed
- Apply fertiliser
- Lay a top quality turf as per your requirements for the type of lawn you want or that the site demands.
Seeding
Creating a new lawn from seed can be just as successful as turf but the process takes longer because the conditions have to be right for the seed to germinate which can take anyting up to 21 days. As with laying turf, preparation of the area is the key to how well the seed will establish. The process that Lawn Style follow for sowing a new lawn is:
- Kill any existing grass and weeds
- Rotovate the area
- Rake the area to remove stones and debris
- Level the area
- Add additional top soil if needed
- Add pre-seeding fertiliser
- Sow top quality grass seed as per your requirements for the type of lawn you want or that the site demands.
